Dr. Ernesto Enkerlin-Hoeflich
'International Collaborative Efforts for the Conservation of Shared Insular Ecosystems '

The Symposium Committee is pleased to welcome Dr. Ernesto Enkerlin-Hoeflich as our keynote speaker for the conference.
Dr. Enkerlin-Hoeflich is the president of the National Commission on Natural Protected Areas of Mexice (CONANP), the agency responsible for conservation of all the protected natural areas in Mexico. He is widely recognized for his outstanding contributions to wildlife conservation, research, and environmental education.
Dr. Enkerlin obtained a PhD in Wildlife Ecology from Texas A&M University. His research on the ecology of parrots has led to science-based advances in parrot and habitat conservation. He founded and directed Pronatura Noreste and positioned it as one of Mexico's leading conservation organizations.
Dr. Enkerlin's talk will address conservation issues common to the California Islands as ecosystems that straddle political boundaries. |
